FILE | DESCRIPTION |
BOSTON | The population density of Boston in 1940 as a function of the distance from the city center. |
BULLET | A bullet was shot from a rifle. The velocity was measured as a function of distance traveled. |
CALVES | The concentration of a dye in plasma in a calf as a function of time. |
CAR | A car with manual transmission was driven on a long straight horizontal road at 55 mph. The car was taken out of gear and let roll to a stop. The time at which the car was traveling at 55, 50, ... , 10, 5, and 0 mph was recorded. |
COFFEE | Some students measured the temperature of coffee to see how rapidly it cooled. The coffee temperature is shown as a function of the time. |
CUBIC | The period of a cubic oscillator for different initial amplitudes. |
DIOXIDE | The decomposition of Nitrogen Dioxide as a function of time. |
DRUGS | The concentration of theophylline in the blood stream as a function of time after injection of an initial dose. |
HALFLIFE | The decay of the 64Cu isotope as a function of time. |
MEMORY | The average percentage memory loss as a function of time. |
NITRO | The decomposition of Ethyl m-Nitrobenzoate as a function of time. |
OVERDAMP | The amplitude at various times for an overdamped pendulum. |
PEROXIDE | The decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide as a function of time. |
PUPILS2 | This shows the result of an experiment where 10 subjects where kept in a darkened room and then brought into light, causing the pupils to dilate, and then the diameter of the pupils was measured every 1/3 sec. |
RCL-P | The charge in volts was measured as a function of time for a parallel RLC circuit. |
RCL-S | The charge in volts was measured as a function of time for a series RLC circuit. |
RECOGN | The percentage of words remembered is shown as a function of the time elapsed since being shown the words. |
SPECTRUM | Very high energy particles are found in the radiation belts of Earth, Jupiter, and Saturn. During Pioneer 10's flyby of Jupiter in 1973, these data were obtained. It shows the number of particles per unit time at different energies in Jupiter's radiation belt.
|
SUCROSE | The decrease in the concentration of Sucrose as a function of time when it is hydrolyzed by the catalytic action of the enzyme Sucrase. |
UNDER | The amplitude at various times for an underdamped pendulum. |
