So now we have a value for which is close to the relaxation frequency for the number of carriers in the system. So we set this value and we are free to vary . We pick a set of initial conditions and set them as constant, namely =0.01 and =7. We find that when the value for b is around 0.0072-0.0073, we see chaotic behavior in the system. This is interesting since chaos in the laser system can have many interesting applications. Chaos has already been controlled in experiments involving lasers. We hope to be able to apply the ideas of control and synchronization of chaos to this laser system in the future.
