Pandemic Prevention – Mechanistic Understanding, Modeling, and prediction of Zoonotic Spillover

TRIPODS Seminar

Pandemic Prevention – Mechanistic Understanding, Modeling, and prediction of Zoonotic Spillover
Series: TRIPODS Seminar
Location: Online
Presenter: Daniel A Jacobson, Oak Ridge National Laboratory

To develop proactive prevention of spillovers that trigger pandemics, we need to incorporate the lessons learned from COVID-19 and develop pre-emergence intelligence to predict and prevent spillover and rapidly detect emergence of new outbreaks. This will require integrative work across the disciplines of computational systems biology, ecology, behavior, virology, and epidemiology.  In this talk I will give an overview of the approach that we are talking to predict and prevent future pandemics.
