Dynamic Mode Decomposition Workshop Part I - Intro to DMD
Series: Program in Applied Mathematics Brown Bag Seminar
Location: Hybrid: Math 402/Online
Presenter: Robert Ferrando, Program in Applied Mathematics, University of Arizona

This will be the first session of a two-week workshop on the Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD).  We will establish the theoretical foundations and standard uses of DMD as an algorithm for data-driven study of dynamical systems. In addition, algorithmic implementations of DMD will be demonstrated in the Julia programming language. This initial session will roughly follow Chapter 1 of Dynamic Mode Decomposition by Kutz et al. We will conclude with a broad discussion of potential applications to DMD in various fields, and determine, based on attendee interest, the focus of the second session.
