Abstract:         We introduce the notion of “phase bit” or “phi-bit” in externally driven metastructures, which are classical analogues of quantum bits. Phi-bits open pathways to promising and validated modes of initializing, operating, and measuring information that should compare favorably with state-of-the-art quantum systems without suffering from quantum fragility.
