Designing Effective Rubrics

Mathematics Instruction Colloquium

Designing Effective Rubrics
Series: Mathematics Instruction Colloquium
Location: MATH 401
Presenter: Lindsay Hansen, OIA

A rubric’s design depends on the instructional goals. To facilitate faster grading? To provide detailed feedback? To communicate assignment criteria? In this session, we will examine several rubric designs and evaluate how the different features are “good” and “not good” for facilitating different instructional goals. We will also share insights into how these ideas may inform our own instruction.

(Refreshments will be served in 401N before the talk.)
