How to work with Mochizuki’s Inequality (Part I)
Series: Algebraic Geometry Seminar
Location: ENR2 S395
Presenter: Taylor Dupuy, University of Vermont

I will attempt to define enough objects to state Mochizuki’s inequality rigorously. I will then attempt to explain the hypotheses of the inequality and how to derive Szpiro type inequalities from this inequality in the style of IUT4. Time permitting I will explain what I know about some of the ingredients in Mochizuki’s “proof” of Corollary 3.12 and how they are supposed to be used.
