Oh, What a Tangled Web we Weave: The Roller Coaster Ride that is Mathematics Identity
In this session, we will explore various messages students receive that aid in formulating their own mathematical identities. I will share some of my experiences this year as an 8th grade mathematics teacher and what I have found to be helpful in helping to build positive identities in my students. Participants will engage in storytelling, speech writing, and of course, some mathematics.
