There are a wide variety of internship opportunities in government labs and private industry. Graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunites, and the department maintains a variety of contacts to facilitate this. In particular, the department has had strong ties with Los Alamos National Laboratories in New Mexico for decades.
