Promoting Reform in Mathematics Education (PRIME) Extension Consortium

(1998 - 2001)

Linda Griffin
Kim Boling

The PRIME Extension Consortium was created in response to requests by local school districts to continue the professional activities of the PRIME program after funding from the National Science Foundation ended. Participating schools were offered the opportunity to enter into an agreement with the University to utilize one of two types of services. The first service provided access to professional development activities such as day long workshops, the PRIME Library, and the "Math Help Line". The second service provided access to fifty hours of school support such as workshops at the school site, assistance in the classroom, instruction on the effective use of technology in teaching, and assistance with planning academic activities with students and parents. In return for these services participating schools contributed $2500 per year toward the operation of the PRIME Extension Office.
