Math Placement, Transfer Credit/Credit by Exam, PPL (Math Placement Test) → First and Second Year Math Courses → Fall Schedule For Success, Math 100 and SAS 100AX
Fall Schedule For Success- Math 100 and SAS 100AXMath 100: The purpose of this course is to prepare students for a university-level math class and place into their major’s required math courses. Successful completion of Math 100 provides students with the skills and placement level needed for their next math course. Math 100 and SAS 100AX were designed to help students prepare for their next UA Math course (Math 106, 107, 108, or 112) and fill in any gaps from high school. For part of the course, students work in an online, individualized program called ALEKS. Using this program, students create their own paths through the course content and tackle problems when they are truly ready to master them. Approximately 75-80% of Math 100 students place into a university-level math course at the end of the course. Placement into Math 100: Students who did not progress to high school precalculus generally place into Math 100. Students who took high school statistics senior year, or did not take math their senior year or last semester, generally place into Math 100. If you have taken a high school precalculus course, you may be able to place higher through the PPL Assessment.
