About Me
My name is Christian Parkinson. I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Mathematics Department at the University of Arizona. I am here as part of the Research Training Group in Data Driven Discovery, and I am working with Shankar Venkataramani and Kevin Lin.
Before my time at UA, I received my doctorate in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, where I studied level set methods and applied optimal control theory under the advice of Andrea Bertozzi and Stan Osher. And before that I received my undergraduate and master's degrees in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines, where I wrote a thesis analyzing an in-host model for viral dynamics under the advice of Steve Pankavich.
For more professional information, you can explore this site or download my CV.
Outside of work, I love cooking, reading fiction, watching movies, playing retro video games (especially SNES and N64), exploring craft breweries, competing in trivia contests, traveling the world (you know, in the before times) and cheering on the Los Angeles sports teams (Go Rams/Dodgers/Angels/Lakers!).
