We also acknowledge the National Science Foundation for their support. The Instrument and Laboratory Improvement grants, DUE94-50953 and DUE94-55970, equipped two electronic classrooms so that each student had access to a computer at all times during class. NSF grants USE90-53431 and USE90-54181allowed us to develop software to use in these classrooms. These grants provided a means for meaningfully incorporating graphical and numerical methods into classroom discussions and greatly aided the graphical and numerical presentations of this book. Finally, NSF grant DUE90-53799 supplied funds for mathematics education students and teachers to work through the book and suggest improvements.
