Why We Wrote This Book Page 1 of 4
We have written this book to enable everyone to be an active
participant in their own learning. Our objective is to introduce
Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) in a manner that invites
students to think, experiment, and comprehend. We want students to see
ODEs as a logical extension of calculusnot only to understand them,
but also to see them as a natural tool for investigating many aspects
of science and engineering. We encourage students to explore
differential equations by employing technology as an instrument to check,
discover, and interpret the behavior of solutions.
Our intent is to provide lively reading with compelling
applications, projects, and experiments, that supply students with
opportunities to explore the relationship between the differential
equation and the process it models.
