William G. Faris: Research Interests

My research interests are in mathematical physics and in applied probability. I have worked on the Feynman path integral of quantum mechanics, the theory of self-adjoint operators acting in Hilbert space, stochastic partial differential equations, neural networks, and wave propagation in random media. My current interest is quantum statistical mechanics. I have been using cluster expansions and am trying to get a better understanding of renormalization group methods.
