Course description from UA Catalog: Development, analysis, and evaluation of mathematical models for physical, biological, social, and technical problems; both analytical and numerical solution techniques are required.

Homework: Will be assigned regularly.

Grading: The total number of points available on tests and homework is 500 = 100(homeworks+quizzes) + 200(midterm presentation and midterm report)+ 200(poster session and final report) Midterm presentations will be at Tue, Mar 13 and Thu, Mar 15. Final presentations are scheduled on Thu, Apr 26 and Tue, May 1. Reflection assignment is one or two single-space typed pages document, reflecting and describing your work and discoveries on the modeling project. This document must be prepared separately by each team member. Be sure to include a description of your contributions and also your thoughts on how or whether this activity helped your professional development or influenced your professionalism in team work and collaboration, communication, and problem solving. It is due on 5/7/2018 at 6 pm. This year's School of Mathematical Sciences Poster Session will be held: Reading Day, Thursday, May 3, 2018 9:15 - 10:45AM McClelland Park lobby (this is the Retailing & Consumer Sciences building across the street to the East from Park Student Union, NOT the Eller building) Map: https://goo.gl/XyhPXd Plan to arrive between 8:45AM and 9:00AM to allow time to sign in and set up your poster. Grades will be no lower than set forth in the following table:

450 ≤ points ≤ 500 90% to 100%A
400 ≤ points ≤ 449 80% to 90%B
350 ≤ points ≤ 399 70% to 80%C
300 ≤ points ≤ 349 60% to 70%D
0 ≤ points ≤ 299   0% to 60%E

Incompletes: The grade of I will be awarded if all of the following conditions are met:
  1. The student has completed all but a small portion of the required work.
  2. The student has scored at least 50% on the work completed.
  3. The student has a valid reason for not completing the course on time.
  4. The student agrees to make up the material in a short period of time.
