Roles of the Teacher

 

·      Identify and prioritize what needs to be learned.

·      Distinguish between facts, procedures, and concepts.

·      Organize concepts hierarchically.

·      Divide what is to be learned into appropriate increments.

·      Create or adapt activities that stimulate the development of the desired concept.

·      Ask questions that encourage students to reflect on and verbalize their thought process.

·      Provide subtasks where needed.

·      Regularly evaluate the students’ understanding.

·      Provide wrap-up to ensure that all students have learned the desired concepts.
