49 Collection of wood shapes One shape bears the stamp UNIS (or ONIS or ORIS) France, Deyrolle Paris 69. These were probably drawing models for engineering students, promoted in French, and then American, technical schools in the 1850s. They also may have come from catalogues of models for technical training in the common schools, mandated in many states in 1870 and after, which promoted drawing and handling of geometric models. |
