SWRIMS HIGH SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

Cryptography

Saturday, 24 April 1999
Mathematics Building

Workshop schedule:

The basic idea of the workshop is to teach some of the important number theory involved in public key crypto- systems like RSA and the Diffie-Hellman key exchange to an audience of pre-calculus and calculus students. We have run this workshop several times before and have accumulated quite a bit of material which you would be free to use, or you could do something a little different. There will be a workshop on Factoring and Primality Testing the following Saturday, so another goal of this workshop is to get students prepared for and interested in that.

This workshop is organized by Pat Deeren and Jennifer Smith, with help from Aaron Ekstrom, Laura Kondek, and Judith Reed.
