- Due Tuesday, January 18th: Identify one or two modeling projects you would like to work on. Teams will be finalized in class, but you may already get in touch with other students and start forming a team.
- Due Thursday, January 20th: Problems # 1 and 2, page 6. There will be no quiz, but I will collect and grade your papers.
- Quiz on Thursday, January 27th: Problems # 4 and 5, page 7; Problems # 1 and 2, page 22; Problem # 6 page 23.
- Quiz on Thursday, February 3rd: Problems # 1 page 44; # 2 p. 45; # 3 p. 46.
Also due Thursday, February 3rd: Prepare a short (4-8 slides) PowerPoint or PDF presentation on your project, which you will present in class. - Quiz on Thursday, February 10th: Problems # 1, 2 and 3 on supplemental Homework #4 page.

Also due Thursday, March 10th: Midterm report on your project.
The report should contain an introduction that presents your project, and separate sections describing the model and its analysis (for instance, you could include sections on data collection, modeling, analysis, and simulation of the model). The suggested length for your report is 5 to 8 pages, but this of course depends on the number of figures and/or tables that you include.
References to published books and papers should preferably have the following format: Author(s), Title (in italics), Journal (or publisher for a book) volume number (in bold) (typically for journal articles), beginning page-ending page (only for journal articles) (year (in parentheses)). - Due Thursday, March 24th: Download the list of questions on R. May's article, and address questions number 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, plus two other questions of your choice.
- Oral presentations on March 29th, 31st and on April 5th.
- Quiz on Thursday, March 31st: Problems # 3, 5, 6 p. 85; # 7, 8, 9 p. 86.
- Quiz on Thursday, April 7th: Problems # 1, 2, 3, 4 on supplemental Homework #11 page.
- Due Thursday, April 14th: Population Dynamics Lab.
- Quiz on Thursday, April 21st: Problems # 1, 2, 3 p. 113.
- Quiz on Thursday, April 28th: Problems # 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 p. 124.
Also due Thursday, April 28th: A fairly definitive version of your poster. This will not be graded; I just want to look at the posters and give you some feedback. - Due Tuesday, May 3rd: The final version of your poster, as well as your final report.
There will be no quiz on the 24th, but I will collect and grade the homework.
