A Ξ›-adic Eichler-Shimura isomorphism for Shimura curves

Abstract: In a series of papers, Ohta proved that the projective limit of ordinary Γ©tale cohomology groups of the modular curves 𝑋1⁑(π‘β’π‘π‘Ÿ) has a natural quotient isomorphic to Hida's space of Ξ›-adic cusp forms. We generalize these results to Shimura curves over an arbitrary totally real number field 𝐹. Let 𝐡 be a quaternion algebra over 𝐹 split at exactly one real place, 𝔑 βŠ†O𝐹 an ideal and 𝔭 a prime of 𝐹 of odd residue characteristic 𝑝 such that 𝐡 is split at all primes dividing 𝔑⁒𝔭. Let Ξ› =limβŸ΅π‘Ÿβ‘β„€π‘β’[𝐢⁒𝑙+𝐹⁑(π”‘β’π”π‘Ÿ)] and π‘‹π‘Ÿ =𝑋𝐡1⁑(π”‘β’π”π‘Ÿ). We prove that the 𝑇⁒(𝔭)βˆ—-ordinary part of limβŸ΅π‘Ÿβ‘π»1Γ©t⁑(π‘‹π‘Ÿ,――𝐹,℀𝑝) has a Λ⁑[𝐺𝐹𝔭]-module quotient which is isomorphic to a projective limit of integral differentials. We also prove a Ξ›-adic duality theorem and discuss relevant control theorems.
